I just this as a crossbody that I can grab with just my essentials (big cell phone, small set of keys, and a slim wallet) and go when I don't want to carry a full size purse or my backpack. I have a galaxy nexus (the phone is huge) and it holds it nicely. If I had an iPhone, you could probably fit 2 side by side (to give a relative estimate of the size).

The only minus is that the bag appears to be a dark pink in the amazon photo, but the bag is actually a purple (between lavender and royal purple, so not pastel or anything).
