Gun Tote'n Mamas Concealed Carry Large Hobo Sac (Black) Review

The biggest problem I had in selecting one of the Gun-Toten-Mamas handbags was deciding on the size. After reading about a million reviews, I realized the need for a particular size was very personal.
I tried putting my handgun in my regular purse and it took up most of the room I was currently using for other "stuff" so I figured I needed to order something larger than what I was currently carrying.
This handbag is considerably larger than what I usually carry unarmed but I think the next size down in this model would be too small. The compartment that accomodates your handgun has a velcro'ed' holster that keeps the gun from sliding around and totally eliminates a revealing outline and is repositional for best access.
This is a left or right hand access as there are hidden zippers on both ends but they are not locking zippers. The lack of a locking zipper is not an issue for me.
The entire purse is not leather. It is a combination of leather and man made materials. Not an issue for me, tho the description should say as much, I felt it was misleading. The color is as I expected and it is very well made. The seams are solid, the zippers slide smoothly without pinching in material even tho the zipper is installed in rolled back material making it very tight. The top zipper slides from either direction or meets in the middle if you prefer that.
I would have liked another organization pocket in the main area, but I can live with this. It is somewhat heavy, and more so of course, after you add your handgun, but I'm not sure a flimsier, lighter purse would hold up. You can "throw" this one around, toss it on the floor of the car or the trunk and not worry.
The biggest drawback for ME, is that when I put my handgun in the "hidden" compartment, it makes it somewhat difficult to dig around in the main compartment for keys, wallet, etc. as the gun bulges into that area.
In the end, I would recommend this handbag, realizing that with all the brands and models there are out there to choose from, there probably isn't the perfect one because we have different needs and criteria. What is important to one is of little consequence to another. This one fulfilled my requirements and with the exceptions noted above, I am very pleased.

Very surprised when this arrived. The quality of leather is fantastic. It is also very light to carry. The one thing I don't like about some leather bags is that they are already heavy before you even start to load them up with stuff. Not so with this bag. The handle is adjustable and the zipper slides easily. It has some pockets on the inside that are convenient for your phone, etc.

I'm seriously thinking of ordering another style from this company. Just beautiful and I received compliments the very first day I used it. Highly recommend.

I purchased this bag in the Antique White, and I loved it so much when I received it that I immediately went online and tried to buy a second one in "Light Fuschia". Unfortunately, that color was sold out, but I am thrilled that I have at least one. Where do I start? This bag is very well-designed. It appears medium-size but there is so much room inside, and the way it opens makes the interior very accessible and easy to see (and find!) everything. The front is amazing: there is a an outer pocket, very convenient for sunglasses, with an envelope-type flap and a handy magnetic closure. And then there is - and this surprised me because I thought it was just a decoration - another pocket on the front exterior that opens with a locking clasp, and that pocket reaches all the way to the bottom of the purse. The inside has a roomy zippered pocket and two generous slip-in pockets. The lining makes everything very easy to see, a cream color with Jessica's iconic logo in black. And guess what else? This bag folds completely flat, so you can pack it or put it in a drawer if you want to store it. Regarding the color Antique White - to me it resembles the color "Stone" I have seen in some leather goods. It is not a bright optical white, but rather a subdued light neutral with perhaps a hint of gray. I can't think of anything the color would not go with. I hope people are not hesitating on this color because they think it is just for summer when they see "white". It could go for at least three seasons and I live in California so I will use it year-round. I love the open-work, lacey eyelet pattern on the front and back which I think gives it a very feminine look.
