This is a very large roomy handbag. The material is a faux leather but is as soft as real glove leather, I think. It was well packaged: stuffed with a lot of paper so it didn't mush down in shipping. It was also wrapped in cellophane inside a sturdy cardboard box, and it came with a nice drawstring bag to put the handbag in for storage. A nice touch. There are 2 open pockets on one inside wall and 2 zippered pockets on the opposite wall. The lining fabric is very nice. There is a zippered compartment on the outside back side large enough for your cell phone or keys. My iPhone will fit in this, but I keep it inside my purse. Now, the 2 pockets on the front of the satchel are, from my standpoint, just for show. They close at the top with a magnetic catch but you can also open them at the side with a zipper. I haven't been able to figure out why they were designed that way. You could also put your iPhone or keys in these pockets. Perhaps a pack of tissues. In between these 2 outer pockets is a vertical zipper that allows access behind the left pocket. Once again, the need for this escapes me. Anyway, it's there if you want to use it. The handles are very comfortable and well attached. The stitching and hardware are very nice. There is plenty of room in this handbag to carry everything you need. I have even put in a large paperback (5.5 x 8.25 x 1.25.) I carry a wallet, iPhone, cosmetics bag, plus two nylon bags with notepads and pens and medical papers that I have to carry. With it full, it is heavy, but that is just the "nature of the beast."
