You know, one of the biggest problems I have with Wal-Mart slacks is the corners they cut in the waistband. Most are only joined near the top of the pants, which means that, over the course of a day's work, the waistband gradually turns inside out. This looks terribly ratty even when the inside waistband is the same color fabric as the outside waist band... when it isn't (as is often the case) it looks like your sweat-stained underwear is pulling up out of your pants for the whole world to see.
