I bought this bag about three months ago and held off on writing a review until I had tested it in a variety of situations, including business, travel and everyday use.
In all settings, my Gatitote has performed really well. In addition to the exterior cell phone pocket -- very handy for getting to the phone in a hurry -- it has three large zippered pockets, two smaller exterior open pockets and a small zippered compartment that's perfect for my work badge and flash drives. The inside is plenty big for my wallet, eyeglass cases, assorted flotsam, a book or newspaper, plus a netbook or tablet. In a pinch, I can even get my laptop in there, although part of it sticks out the top. Based on all of this, I think the Gatitote is an excellent bag for working women.
Because I love pink, I chose the crocus color, which has a purple cast to it -- fuchsia is how I would describe it. Its interior liner and interior and exterior zippers are a contrasting pale turquoise. Given how many objects these days are black, that liner color makes it easy to find things. The combination also gives the handbag a light-hearted feel. However, for those of us who don't live in SoCal or the South, crocus is not a good color for fall and winter, although it's great in the spring and summer.
My only gripe is that the color is light enough to show even a smudge of dirt, and I am still trying to figure out how to clean it without damaging it. The manufacturer suggests using a damp cloth with a small amount of detergent, and that didn't clean very effectively when I tried it. However, one of the darker colors would not have that issue, and so that's not enough to prevent me from giving the Gatitote a top rating. In fact, I am thinking about getting another one in a darker color, and for me, that's high praise indeed.
