I looked at lots of purses before deciding to give this one a try, and I'm glad I did! It's 5" wide. My gun takes up about 1" so that gives me 4" for my other stuff, which is plenty of room. It's a very soft leather and not too heavy. It has plenty of pockets for sunglasses, keys, pens, etc. and one that my cell phone fits in perfectly. The strap is very sturdy and adjustable. At it's longest, it's 44" which is plenty long to wear cross body. I carry an SR-22. I did have to make a few adjustments on the holster, that came with the purse, so my gun would fit better. I just used a seam ripper to open it up a little, then hand-sewed a few stitches to hold it in place. The holster is held inside the gun compartment with velcro and it stays where you put it! One more thing I liked about this purse was the price. It was a lot cheaper than similar purses I looked at.
