I purchased this tote a month or so ago after many years of trying out different products. This time, I refused to purchase anything else until I found "the one". Now, I have hit the jackpot! I'm a bit embarrassed to be so excited about such a little thing in life but let me tell you, this bag confirms the old adage that "it's the little things that make the biggest difference." I use this bag for travel but am considering purchasing another. As for myself, it would fit the bill for daily use for work, school or even as a smaller diaper bag if needed.

#1--Size/weight

First of all, I make short, frequent trips via plane to my mother's home, therefore my need was for an item that was functional but not excessively large. Along this same line, I am a rather small person and I do not care for the over-sized totes that are so popular in stores at present. Also, I wanted something with which I did not have to struggle to carry or to fit under the seat in front of me. I won't repeat the specs but suggest you refer to the dimensions and weight in the excellent product description here on Amazon.
The Windjammer is constructed of a lightweight material which is an excellent choice for portability.

#2--Style

I wanted something that was stylish and had a choice of colors. The windjammer comes in many colors (I chose the rose shade which is a vibrant fuschia color). I feel a lift when I am packing because of my favorite color and the bag is not lost in a sea of blacks and browns during travel. The bag has an attractive quilted design which gives it an additional subtle style all its own without standing out excessively.

#3--Practicality/functionality

This bag is simply tops at having multiple pockets in which to tuck different items separately and safely. An abundance of pockets which zip closed was essential to me as I had had bags which opened too easily and items would slip out during the ride under a plane's seat.
There are interior and exterior pockets in varying sizes which make it perfect for media and other items. Some of the pockets are also lined with additional soft material so as to not scratch phones etc. I especially like the outside pocket which safely stores my boarding pass but makes it easily accessible when necessary. Additionally, as another reviewer has stated, the extra loop on the outside makes it easy to slip the bag over another suitcase securely and ends the struggle to transport multiple items. Another bonus is that the straps have a rubberized-type of coating (in the same color as the bag) at the top which help it stay put when carried over the shoulder.

#4--Cleanabilty and sturdiness

The Windjammer's material is akin to the light-weight but sturdy exterior of parkas and other winter jackets. It is not subject to pilling, picking, pulling or other signs of wear. My favorite feature is the extra reinforcement with a clear vinyl-type material along the bottom which makes it easy to wipe off after setting it down repeatedly during travel. I am a nurse and lean toward the germ aware side.

I could go on and on about this tote but the above cover the highlights. It is well worth the cost as I think it will hold up for years to come. You will not be disappointed.
