These pants are very comfortable. That's my first plug for them. They fit "below the natural waist", as they say, but one cannot tell that, unlike a pair of Levis I have that I keep wanting to pull up. It's a good feeling fit around the waist and backside.

They are also rugged. They are canvas, but not the heavy brown canvas I previously associated with Carhartt pants and overalls. While not dress pants, they look good enough for knocking around town.

They do seem a little long in the leg, however. Mine are 34/32, and the legs had to be tailored, as the 34/30 were a bit too short. I fall somewhere in between, and they do not make a 34/31. But that speaks to my liking of these pants. I do not usually buy pants I know will then have to be tailored, but these are worth it.

The colors are not as pale as they appear here. I have the tan, and they look more like khaki. I also have the dark olive, fairly well represented here. The brown is brown; I do not own a brown pair.

The pockets are another favorite. These are cargo pants, but with cargo pockets that are flush to the leg. Others poke out an inch or two, making changes to your silhouette, but with these your legs look like legs. The back pockets have a slight slant to them, making putting a wallet in a bit easier. The leg pocket flaps here are tighter closing than on the others, opening in only one corner, not both, but I like that. I use these pockets simply, not as bags. For example, my iPhone fits in the right larger leg pocket and is almost unnoticeable.

Try a pair. You will probably want another.
